A story about ordinary people, set on a newly built but ambitious post-war regeneration scheme from the late 1940's.  Having mixed ambitions and prospects, also different backgrounds, education and upbringing, it's perhaps inevitable that, drawn together by location alone, they would interconnect in extraordinary ways.

Intrigue, in the same buildings, on the same street, as the characters arrive on the scene. Behind each painted door and house number, allocated by chance, ordinary lives are led to extraordinary happenings.   A web of lies impacts others.  Conspirers and prey, their lives interwoven.

Set at a time of social change, with expectations driving actions, decisions prove both life-changing and dangerous.  Alternative morals create flashpoints, causing jealousy and betrayal, while driving relationships apart as well as in acts of kindness and support.  Life is primarily focused on those who are closest.

Is the outcome, the unforeseen twist in the tale, justified?
